Mansfield set for extension

A masterplan for an urban extension south of Mansfield has been drafted that the developer says will create 4,000 jobs and pump £100 million into the local economy.

The Lindhurst neighbourhood would comprise up to 1,700 homes and community facilities including shops and sports fields on a 23ha site. The scheme, which would have an initial investment of £170 million, is planned along the Mansfield Ashfield Regeneration Route.

The Lindhurst Group, a consortium of planners and developers, will consult on the masterplan over the next month. It hopes to submit a planning application to Mansfield District Council by the end of the year.
