Councils sign multi-area agreement

Councils on the Fylde coast in Lancashire have signed a multi-area agreement on economic development and regeneration.

The deal, which covers Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Borough Councils and Lancashire County Council, involves training more than 7,000 people to meet local economic needs and reduce the number of benefit claimants. The local authorities will also seek to reduce the number of houses in multiple occupation, increase the quality of privately rented accommodation and build 1,000 homes.
