Historic site guide issued

A guide to assessing historic character from the earliest stages of redevelopment has been launched by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and English Heritage.

The guide looks at identifying distinctive characteristics to explain an inherited sense of place and identity. English Heritage chairwomen Baroness Andrews said: "It is encouraging that the HCA is making the link between heritage and regeneration when considering sites for renewal."
