Planning permission granted for university scheme

Planning permission has been granted for the first stage of the University of Oxford's Radcliffe Observatory Quarter to provide additional teaching and learning space.

Oxford City Council approved plans for the 4ha central site, which will see the refurbishment of the Radcliffe Infirmary and St Luke's Chapel into university accommodation. Neighbouring Somerville College will also get three buildings, including two accommodation blocks for 68 students. A third block will provide teaching and library facilities.
