Cheshire store approved following inquiry

Permission as been granted for what will be the second largest Marks & Spencer store in the country, following an inquiry held in June.

The 18,115m2 store, which will create 460 jobs, is to be built in Ellesmere Port. HOW Planning secured backing for the project from the local council but because of its size it was called in. "This is an important decision in the context of national retail policy, especially in light of the imminent release of PPS4. The store represents a major investment for Marks & Spencer," said partner Richard Woodford.
