Entec scoops waste work

Consultancy Entec has been appointed by Midlothian Council and Edinburgh City Council to provide technical and planning advice for their joint Zero Waste project.

The contract covers £500 million of investment over 30 years to develop and operate a facility or facilities to treat up to 200,000 tonnes of waste a year.

Entec said it would work alongside both councils to support them in devising the best solution for long-term waste management in Edinburgh and Midlothian.

Zero Waste project manager Gordon Pollock said: "We are looking forward to working with Entec. Its wide experience of similar developments will benefit this project significantly."
