New homes funded by the Homes and Communities Agency

Almost half the homes built in England to March 2011 will be funded by the Homes and Communities Agency, according to its corporate plan.

Launching the document last week, chief executive Sir Bob Kerslake said he believes that the agency is involved in every housing or regeneration scheme in the country. But he conceded that budgets will be tight. The agency's property and regeneration fund will be almost halved next year, a result of cash being brought forward to tackle the effects of the recession.
