London overground station opens early

The £7.8 million Imperial Wharf station in west London was opened this week by London mayor Boris Johnson, months ahead of its delivery schedule.

The stop on the Clapham Junction to Willesden Junction overground will improve transport links for Fulham and Chelsea residents. The station forms part of St George's Imperial Wharf scheme and has Oyster ticketing, step-free access and the latest security features. Johnson said: "This is an example of what can be achieved when private investment and local government work together."
