Inquiry into mixed-use scheme in Kirkby begins this week

A six-week inquiry into £400 million plans by Everton Football Club and Tesco for a stadium and mixed-use scheme in Kirkby began this week.

Everton says the move is essential to its financial future but the plan is opposed by Liverpool City Council, Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council and local residents. A decision from inspector Wendy Burden is due in the spring.
