UK Coal given green light

UK Coal has been given the green light to redevelop the former Prince of Wales colliery site in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

Communities secretary Hazel Blears this week concluded that she did not need to intervene after Wakefield Council approved the project in August. UK COAL intends to build 917 homes and a business and commercial park at the site.
