Government policy report

Government policy does not adequately consider the needs of those who live in the countryside, according to a report by the Commission for Rural Communities this week.

It warns that "rural proofing" is still not part of the day-to-day work of government departments. The organisation has now embarked on renewing the process for rural proofing and will seek evidence over the next three months.
