Cherwell District Council draws up improvement scheme

Cherwell District Council must draw up an improvement scheme for its planning service that understands customer needs and value for money, the Audit Commission has advised.

Auditors found the council's services fair but with uncertain prospects for improvement. They pointed out that the authority relies on an informal local plan because the formal one is out of date, while enforcement is poorly organised.
