Eurostar platforms lie empty at Waterloo station

The five Eurostar platforms at Waterloo station will lie empty for at least a year, it has emerged.

Eurostar services were switched to St Pancras International this week. London TravelWatch chairman Brian Cooke said: "It has been known for many years that Eurostar would be vacating Waterloo. It is scandalous that no firm decision has yet been made." A Department for Transport spokesman said it intends the platforms to be used for domestic services by the end of next year.
