Halcrow wins carbon study

Halcrow has been appointed to lead a team on a ground-breaking emissions study for London transport.

The project has been commissioned by UrbanBuzz, University College London's two-year knowledge sharing programme. Halcrow will examine the carbon efficiency of the capital's transport strategy and develop ways to cut emissions by 60 per cent by 2025, rising to 80 per cent by 2050.

Halcrow project manager said Robin Hickman said the project will work to a vision of a sustainable transport future and cast back to the present day to determine the steps required to get there.

The project is supported by the Oxford University transport studies unit's David Banister, Space Syntax, Transport for London and the London Assembly.
