Ralf Brand to investigate how design can help with violentdivision

An investigation into how building and neighbourhood design can steer cities away from violent division was announced this week.

The University of Manchester's Ralf Brand will look at issues in Beirut, Belfast, Berlin and Amsterdam. The work, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, will help planners, policy-makers, architects and urban designers create built environments that prevent conflict.
