Oxford west end studied

Colin Buchanan's urban design team is working on a report on how to improve Oxford's west end.

It will draw on the city's public realm strategy and area action plan and design code to create a series of typical street types.

These take into account existing and projected traffic uses, pedestrian movement, public space, proposed land use and historical features.

Oxford City and Oxfordshire County Councils, which commissioned the report, will use it to negotiate public realm improvement funds and section 106 contributions from developers.
