Bodies issue health guide

A good practice note for planners that advises on how to ensure that extra care housing caters for all the needs of a growing elderly population was published this week.

It has been prepared by the Care Services Improvement Partnership, the Department of Health and the RTPI.

Housing accommodating different levels of care in the right location can help older people retain independence, the note argues. There will be at least five million more people over 60 in the UK by 2026, the RTPI added.
