Work to start on rugby site

Work is due to start on redeveloping the former Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club ground to designs produced by Barton Willmore's Bristol office.

The firm acted as planning consultants, urban designers and architects on the scheme for Bellway Homes.

The reserved matters application, which has just been backed by Exeter City Council, will see the derelict site to the south of the city centre redeveloped with 100 flats and houses.

The firm said the scheme, comprising buildings of up to three storeys, aims to tie in with traditional Victorian houses in the area.
