Staff helped to cut carbon

WSP Environmental has launched a scheme to help its staff become greener outside the workplace.

Personal Allowance Carbon Tracking (PACT) is a voluntary scheme designed to help staff reduce their carbon footprint.

Employees record their emissions, including energy consumption at home and personal travel over a year, to see whether they have exceeded their carbon allowance of six tonnes.

If they have expended more energy they have to pay 5p per kilogram, which will go into a carbon fund for other green measures.
