Pub conversion deemed no risk to vitality

The change of use of retail premises in a Nottinghamshire district centre to a Wetherspoons pub has been approved by an inspector who ruled that it would not undermine its vitality and viability.

He noted that the centre appeared to be quite vibrant and the premises had been vacant for around three years. Because the units on either side of the appeal site would remain in retail use, he concluded that the conversion would add to the diversity of facilities.
