All Crossrail services will begin operation from 2017

All Crossrail services will begin operation over the course of a year from 2017, London mayor Ken Livingstone promised this week.

This includes the south-east section towards Abbey Wood, which he maintained is vital to open up the Thames Gateway. Livingstone confirmed that build-up of services across the project will be phased in over a 12-month period to allow for safety tests of railway systems.
