Zero carbon site outlined

English Partnerships has announced plans for 800 homes on a former hospital site in Chichester to create one of the UK's first net zero carbon developments.

Galliford Try and Affinity Sutton have been chosen as preferred joint developers. They will deliver 1,645m2 of commercial and community facilities as well as renovating former hospital buildings including a chapel and a grade II listed farmhouse.

The zero carbon strategy means that all properties must produce no net carbon dioxide emissions from energy use. A planning application is due next summer.
