Stations to be revamped

Eight stations across London and the South East will be revamped under plans by Network Rail, it was announced this week.

The railway operator seeks a developer to regenerate stations at Enfield Town, Epsom, Guildford, Maidstone East, London Paddington, Enterprise House, Twickenham, Walthamstow Central and Wembley Cutting.

The developer will enter a joint agreement with Network Rail to provide a steady funding stream for improving the stations and boosting economic growth.

Network Rail chief executive Iain Coucher said the partnership will build a long-term relationship to "unlock the potential of inner city sites to benefit passengers and local communities". A deal for the sites, comprising 8ha, is due by June.
