City renewal head chosen

A Liverpool-born international businessman has been appointed chairman of the city's regeneration firm.

British Nuclear Fuels group chief executive Michael Parker was chosen to head the agency.

Liverpool City Council praised Parker, also former Dow Chemical Company global chief executive, for his influence in Whitehall and his international reputation.

The company results from a merger of Liverpool Vision, Liverpool Land Development and Business Liverpool.
