Lewisham planners back project to redevelop town centre

London Borough of Lewisham planners have backed a £250 million project to redevelop the town centre.

The six-year Lewisham Gateway project will involve building links between the existing shopping centre and bus, train and Docklands Light Railway stations. London mayor Ken Livingstone and the Government Office for London will examine the plans, put forward by a consortium of Muse Developments, Taylor Wimpey and the London Development Agency.
