Bradford city park backed

Plans for a £30 million city park in the centre of Bradford have received detailed planning permission.

The proposals, including a landmark mirror pool, were approved by Bradford City Council last week.

The first phase of the 4ha park, designed by Gillespies and brought forward by the council and Bradford Centre Regeneration, includes green spaces and cafes.

The second phase will feature a mixed-use scheme comprising offices, leisure and residential space.

Bradford is bidding for £24.5 million towards the cost of developments from the Big Lottery Fund's Living Landmarks programme.
