Batching plant secured with restrictions

The retention of a concrete batching plant on an industrial estate in Leicestershire has been approved after an inspector concluded that its impact could be controlled through the provision of appropriate conditions.

The local planning authority was concerned about the impact of dust on commercial uses that were located adjacent to the site. However, the inspector decided that this problem could be mitigated by the installation of purpose-built storage containers and a water spray system that would minimise particulates blowing off the site during windy and dry weather.

DCS Number 100-050-363

Inspector Martin Joyce; Hearing.
