Francis Salway backs road pricing

A leading property developer has backed the government's plans for a national road pricing scheme. At sustainability conference Think this week, Land Securities chief executive Francis Salway said road pricing, where drivers pay by the mile, would be fairer than congestion charging. He argued that rather than hindering property development, road pricing would have a regenerative effect and "encourage people to use public transport".
