Travel plan success

Liverpool John Moores University is claiming its travel plan has been a success after it found that 250 fewer members of staff are driving in to work than two years ago and are instead using public transport, walking and car-sharing. In 2005, half of the 2,500 workforce said they drove to work; that figure is now 40 per cent. The scheme is part of the Merseyside local transport plan for the period from 2006 to 2011.
