Urban Design

Retailers must put the principles of good urban design at the forefront of refurbishment and development plans to remain competitive, a report on the future of retail shopping centres says this week. The report, commissioned by the British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC), also calls for a more flexible approach to internal design to make shopping centres more "exciting". Future of Retail Property: Future Shopping Places is available from BCSC (tel) 020 7222 1122.
