Restoration of the Crumlin Road Gaol

The £1 million restoration of the 1845 facade at Belfast's Crumlin Road Gaol began this week. The investment, revealed by social development minister David Hanson, will pay for the removal of security walls and fencing obscuring the front of the grade A listed building. The repairs form part of plans to redevelop the site and the former Girdwood Army Barracks.
