DCLG to improve lives of disabled people

The DCLG has set out how it will improve the lives of disabled people in its first disability equality scheme (DES), published this week. The scheme features an action plan for improvements over the next three years, including more accessible social housing and inclusive design principles in the built environment. Under the Disability and Discrimination Act 2005, all public authorities must produce a DES every three years. The scheme is available at PlanningResource.co.uk/doc.
