Impact of regeneration projects in North East to be scrutinised

The impact of physical regeneration projects on North East communities is to be scrutinised by the Commission for Racial Equality.

The commission said that the study will be the first in an ongoing investigation of what happens when communities are not properly consulted and when they do not benefit from regeneration schemes. It is calling for evidence of such projects that have been successful and those that have failed to engage local people.
