The 10ha site is located between the town centre and Erith railway station and has a substantial frontage onto the River Thames. The gateway currently comprises a collection of sites ranging in use from social housing and leisure to civic buildings with some open space. The sites are in a mix of ownerships although the council is the majority landowner in the area.
Donaldsons is working closely with EDAW to prepare a development brief.
A development partner is expected to be appointed in the summer.
