Construction starts on phase one of Millbay regeneration

Construction has started on phase one of the regeneration of the Millbay neighbourhood in Plymouth. The first phase encompasses a mixed-use development of 134 homes and almost 1,800m2 of business space. More than 30 of the homes will be affordable. Work is expected to be complete by summer 2008. The work began a month after English Cities Fund and English Partnerships submitted an outline planning application to Plymouth City Council for a £300 million project on more than 10ha of brownfield land in Millbay.
