Hull City Council's plan to designate a renewal area

Hull City Council's plan to designate a renewal area at Hawthorn Avenue and Dairycoates was put out for consultation this week. The area has been identified under a regeneration scheme for the whole of the Newington and St Andrew's areas of the city let by Gateway, the city's housing market renewal pathfinder. A neighbourhood renewal assessment concluded that housing and living conditions are no longer acceptable and recommended a programme of house building, demolition and refurbishment.
