Ashford, Kent scheme

Work on a housing scheme that will unlock £7 million of funding for motorway junction improvements in Ashford, Kent, is under way. Taylor Woodrow and Persimmon will provide the cash to rebuild two motorway bridges at junction 10 on the M20 as they start a 780-home development on a site south of Park Farm. The deal struck earlier this year (Planning, 13 January, p3) is one of the first examples of the private sector forward funding major public infrastructure.
