Global debate needed on climate change

A global debate is needed to determine the scale and type of action that could combat climate change, environment secretary David Miliband insisted this week. He argued that a shared sense of urgency would encourage action and provide the certainty that government and business investment decisions need. A study by Sir Nick Stern on the economics of climate change will help to stimulate the debate, he added. It is due to be published by the end of summer.
