Sedgemoor District Councils fails to enforce planning conditions

Sedgemoor District Council failed to enforce planning conditions at a pub skittle alley, the local government ombudsman has found. A neighbour had complained over a period of seven years about noise from the alley, which was subject to a planning condition. The ombudsman judged that the council failed to investigate and did not enforce conditions. He recommended that it should take action over the breach of control and pay the neighbour £3,000 in compensation.
