Breckland pays compensation

Breckland District Council has been advised to pay £2,000 compensation to a woman who complained about noise from a skatepark close to her home. The local government ombudsman found that the council's decision to grant permission for the facility was based on inadequate environmental health information. It also failed to ensure that environmental health officers or independent noise specialists were involved in designing the skatepark and wording the planning conditions.
