South Downs Campaign will object EDF Energy Networks application

The South Downs Campaign will formally object to an application by EDF Energy Networks to renew overhead power lines between Lewes and Newhaven in the Ouse Valley, it was announced this week. The cables and their supporting pylons are a major blight on the landscape, according to the campaign group, which wants them to be buried. The valley is in the Sussex Downs area of outstanding natural beauty and the proposed South Downs national park.
