Plans for two national sports venues approved by Glasgow City Council

Plans for two multi-million pound national sports venues have been approved by Glasgow City Council as it pushes its bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The local authority pledged £18.4 million towards the Toryglen Regional Indoor Training Centre and Scotstoun Rugby and Athletics Stadium. A further £7.5 million bid for funding from Sportscotland is awaiting approval.
