Plans approved for bridge over River Aire

Plans for a pedestrian bridge across the River Aire in Castleford were approved by Wakefield City Council this week. The 131m bridge, part of Channel 4's Castleford Project television series following the regeneration of the West Yorkshire town, was designed by Renato Benedetti to provide a focal point for the town.
