Royal London Hospital gets a kick-start for refurbishment work
The Royal London Hospital in north-east London will receive £4 million to kick-start the first phase of refurbishment work, housing and planning minister Yvette Cooper announced last week. The North East London Strategic Health Authority will match the funding, which means that 90 per cent of the development could be completed by 2011. The scheme will see two floors of the Alexandra Wing refurbished to house clinical services. A 200-seat temporary restaurant and 36-space car park will also replace existing facilities.
