Appointment at Olympic Delivery Authority

The Olympic Delivery Authority has selected David Higgins as chief executive. The authority is charged with building the venues, facilities and infrastructure for the London 2012 games. As managing director and chief executive at the Lend Lease Group in Australia, Higgins was involved in the Sydney 2000 Olympics. He will resign from his post as English Partnerships chief executive. Jack Lemley, who ran the Anglo-French consortium that designed and built the £8 billion Channel Tunnel, has been named as authority chairman.
