Project seeks volunteers for delivery tests

Pilot authorities are being sought for a project to test delivery agreements to help deal with major applications, it was announced this week.

The Planning Advisory Service (PAS), based at the Improvement and Development Agency, is running and evaluating the project. It will involve authorities drafting delivery contracts for agreement with developers on specific sites. These ideally, but not necessarily, will be at early pre-application stage. The agreement should identify key milestones and timescales for delivery by both the local authority and the developer.

The PAS is calling on any local authority that is aware of a large application in its area for which a delivery agreement would be appropriate to get involved. Those interested in taking part should e-mail details and information about the site to
