POS submission

An approach to housing provision based on increasing supply at any cost is "misplaced", according to the Planning Officers Society (POS) this week. In its submission to the Commons ODPM committee inquiry into the supply of housing, the society argues that the fall in publicly subsidised housing has led to the reduction in supply, rather than any inherent limitations in the planning system. Private house building has remained at approximately the same level over recent years, the POS points out.
