Plans unveiled for Victorian workhouse

Plans to transform a former Victorian workhouse in Powys into housing and community space were unveiled this week. The grade II listed Y Dolydd workhouse in Llanfyllin was featured in BBC television series Restoration. It was bought by a charitable trust last year using a £300,000 loan from the Architectural Heritage Fund. A consultancy report into the future of the building recommended converting it into a day nursery, 250 apartments, offices and a training base for Mencap.
