Plans for mixed-use development in Penrith

Plans for a £77 million mixed-use development to regenerate the Southend Road area of Penrith in Cumbria were submitted this week. Developer Lowther Manelli Properties has proposed a 55,000m2 supermarket, a football stadium, restaurants, cafes and bars along with improvements to a country park in Wetheriggs. The Penrith New Squares scheme also features 234 homes, 30 per cent of which will be affordable. The proposals went on display to the public this week.
