Network to produce regional data

A network to produce regional data on sustainable consumption and production in England has been established by the Environment Agency.

SCPnet will provide statistics to allow regions to benchmark and share best practice. Research has already found that the South West and South East recycle nearly three-quarters of their waste, the North East has made the most improvements in waste efficiency and all regions have cut commercial and industrial waste sent to landfill. Meanwhile, the agency has reappointed Barbara Young as chief executive.
